Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Mr. Beka Dvali formally presented his letter of credence to the Governor General, His Excellency Sir David Tiva Kapu, during a ceremony held today at Government House.
In welcoming Ambassador Dvali, Governor General Sir David Tiva Kapu reaffirmed Solomon Islands’ commitment to strengthening ties with Georgia.
He expressed confidence that the partnership between the two nations would continue to grow, underpinned by mutual respect and shared interests.
"The Government of Solomon Islands stands ready to work closely with Georgia to explore new avenues for collaboration," said the Governor General.
"We are eager to deepen our bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest."
Reflecting on the relationship established 14 years ago, Sir David noted the progress achieved in several partnership initiatives, grounded in the principles of international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“I hope we can continue our shared pursuit of economic development and improved welfare for our peoples,” he said.
“I trust that, both bilaterally and multilaterally, our countries will elevate our engagement and contribute meaningfully to each other’s development.”
The Governor General extended his best wishes to Ambassador Dvali for a successful and fulfilling tenure, expressing hopes for his prosperity and happiness.
In his address, Ambassador Dvali emphasized his dedication to further strengthening the relationship between Georgia and Solomon Islands.
“As Ambassador of Georgia to Solomon Islands, I will spare no effort in contributing to the development of mutually beneficial relations across a range of areas, in both bilateral and multilateral contexts,” he stated.
Ambassador Dvali reiterated Georgia’s commitment to fostering economic growth, enhancing statehood, and improving the welfare of both nations' citizens.
Diplomatic relations between Solomon Islands and Georgia were established on March 11, 2011. The Georgian Embassy in Canberra, Australia, is accredited to Solomon Islands.
