On 14th August 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon Jeremiah Manele, presented Exequatur to Mr Durk Kee Kim formally recognising him as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea to Solomon Islands and Mr Hii Yii Ging, as the Honorary Consul of Malaysia to Solomon Islands.
Minister Manele congratulated both Mr Kim and Mr Hii and wished them well in their respective roles to continue strengthening the bilateral cooperation between Solomon Islands and the Republic of Korea and Malaysia in areas of mutual interest.
Both Mr Kim and Mr Hii have been recognised by the respective sending states to continue the role as Honorary Consul for the next 4 years. Both have lived in the Solomon Islands for over 30 years and are prominent members of the business community. Mr Kim is now a naturalised Solomon Islander.
